A comedian at heart, North Kaio-Sama (King Kai) is a legendary teacher that lives on his own small planet with his pet monkey Bubbles and his pet grasshopper that flies named Gregory. He is one of Gokou's many trainers and prepared the young Saiyan for the battle with Vegeta at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z. After Gokou trains with him, N. Kaio-Sama becomes a mentor to Gokou, and is always giving him advice. He also trains Yamucha, Chaozu, and Tenshinhan (Piccolo was on the planet too, but it is debatable on weather or not he actually received training) N. Kaio-Sama is always making lame jokes that no one laughs at (except him), until, that is, he threatens not to give training to people with a bad sense of humor. Also, In the Japanese version, he is the one that gives the commentary at the beginning of each show (DBZ).
