Number 16 was resurrected by #17 and #18, which was against Dr. Gero's orders, during the android saga. He was made from scratch, meaning that-- unlike #17 and #18-- he was not created from a human base. Therefore, he is completely artificial. However, he has some very human traits. Number 16 has a deep love for nature and doesn't fight unless completely necessary. He is killed by Cell during the Cell game, and his death triggers Son Gohan to transfrom into the 2nd level of Super Saiyan.
